\n Hubby Jenkins is a talented multi-instrumentalist, historian, and interpreter of American roots music whose work shines a light on the African-American influence at the heart of country, blues, and old-time traditions. A gifted banjoist, guitarist, and fiddler, Jenkins first came to national prominence as a core member of the Grammy Award-winning Carolina Chocolate Drops, a group celebrated for reclaiming the Black string band legacy.
Driven by a deep passion for the cultural roots of American music, Jenkins has built a solo career that bridges performance and education. His shows are rich, soulful journeys through African-American musical history—blending spirituals, ragtime, early blues, and folk with stories that underscore the music’s historical and social context. Whether onstage at a major festival or leading workshops, Jenkins brings warmth, authenticity, and a deep reverence for the tradition.
In June 2024, Hubby Jenkins appeared at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville to celebrate the release of a groundbreaking CD that documents the role of African-Americans in the story of country music. This landmark event was followed by an invitation to perform on the Grand Ole Opry—marking another step in the ongoing recognition of Black artists in American roots genres.
Most recently, in May 2025, Jenkins brought his powerful performance to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, where he captivated audiences with his mix of historical storytelling and masterful musicianship.
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Jenkins has performed at venues and festivals across the U.S. and internationally. His mission remains clear: to elevate the underrepresented contributions of Black musicians in American history while delivering moving, unforgettable performances rooted in truth and tradition. Through his music, Hubby Jenkins continues to build bridges between past and present—one note at a time.","Img_1":"HubbyJenkinsSmall.jpg","FPriority":999,"PerformanceStart":"2026-05-03T02:00:00Z","PerformanceEnd":"2026-05-03T02:00:00Z","ItemType":"E","IsFeatured":1,"InteractiveSeatmapActive":1,"HasStream":0,"isBestSeller":0,"StreamlinedHomePageInfoLine":"","upcomingInfo":{"EventID":112,"NumUCP":1,"PerfID":192,"PerfAreaID":0,"EarlyBooking":0,"AccessMemberRestriction":0,"AccessAllowedByMembershipLevel":0}},{"ID":97,"Event":"Carsie Blanton","Description":"

“Carsie Blanton is fighting fascism with big hooks and an even bigger heart.” - American Songwriter
\nCarsie Blanton is a songwriter with hooks, chutzpah, and revolutionary optimism. “It is possible to face the world as it is - rapidly heating, ruled by grifters, ravaged by profitable wars - and still have hope,” she says of her newest release, After the Revolution. “Not the narrow, grasping hope you might hang on an election or a billionaire, but a patient, zoomed-out hope.”
Of After the Revolution, NPR’s Fresh Air says “\"Protest music tends to be strident or self-righteous or just bluntly angry. But Blanton, a folk singer with a rock attitude, knows how to construct songs with real melodies and storylines that don't obscure her messages.\"
With her unique mix of humor, craft, and social critique, Blanton has amassed a small menagerie of viral hits (Rich People, Shit List, Fishin’ With You) and a dedicated fan base. In addition to fifteen years on the road with her band, Blanton volunteers as a political organizer, and was recently published in The Nation. Her latest full-length album After the Revolution, produced by Grammy-winner Tyler Chester, came out on March 21st. In summer of 2024, Blanton began releasing her most viral political songs on a new EP, The Red Album Vol. 1.

“Beautiful, militant anthems.” - Ken Tucker, NPR’s Fresh Air

Accolades include Song of the Year in the 2021 John Lennon Songwriting Contest, 1st place in the 2025 Songwriter Serenade Contest, and a 2026 American Songwriter Magazine holiday song contest win. No Depression Magazine named her a “Queer Country Artist to Watch in 2026.” Listeners can expect her debut LP Lucky Broke Girl, crowdfunded with the help of over 400 fans and recorded in Philly with her band and producer Nick Krill, in August 2026.

Saturday, October 17th @7pm
\n Performing the classic songs of The Band (“The Weight,” “Up on Cripple Creek”) alongside selections from their acclaimed current album Shines Like Gold, The Weight Band carries on the timeless spirit and sound of one of rock’s most beloved groups.
Led by Jim Weider, guitarist and vocalist from Woodstock, NY, who replaced Robbie Robertson in The Band and later performed with Levon Helm in the Levon Helm Band, The Weight Band was formed in 2013 inside Levon Helm’s legendary Woodstock barn. Inspired by Helm to continue the musical legacy of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group, Weider and his bandmates deliver a dynamic set that blends classic Americana with roadhouse rock, funky swamp pop, blues, country soul, and folk.
Their performances feature a mix of The Weight Band’s original material and fan favorites from The Band’s catalog, as well as songs by The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers, Bob Dylan, and more.
Joining Weider are: · Brian Mitchell – keyboards, vocals (Levon Helm Band) · Albert Rogers – bass, vocals (Jim Weider Band, Jimmy Vivino) · Michael Bram – drums, vocals (Jason Mraz) · Matt Zeiner – keyboards, vocals (Dickey Betts)
Together, these veteran musicians share a deep appreciation for what Weider calls the “Woodstock Sound.” With Shines Like Gold, The Weight Band continues to serve as its torchbearer — a masterful ensemble keeping the heart and soul of Americana music alive.","Img_1":"WeightBandSmall.jpg","FPriority":999,"PerformanceStart":"2026-10-18T02:00:00Z","PerformanceEnd":"2026-10-18T02:00:00Z","ItemType":"E","IsFeatured":1,"InteractiveSeatmapActive":1,"HasStream":0,"isBestSeller":0,"StreamlinedHomePageInfoLine":"","upcomingInfo":{"EventID":113,"NumUCP":1,"PerfID":194,"PerfAreaID":0,"EarlyBooking":0,"AccessMemberRestriction":0,"AccessAllowedByMembershipLevel":0}},{"ID":60,"Event":"Grateful Upstate Toodeloo","Description":"

Sunday, December 13th @ 2pm
\n The Gibson Brothers need no introduction in the bluegrass world – the accolades of these “bluegrass superstars” as stated by the New York Times include the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year; Song of the Year; Songwriter of the Year and Album of the Year. Born on a northern New York dairy farm, Eric and Leigh Gibson started playing banjo and guitar in middle school. From those beginnings, the brothers have joined forces with a loyal and virtuosic team of musicians to create their own distinctive mix of heritage and soaring harmony, making them the premiere brother duet of the bluegrass genre, following in the footsteps of legendary brother acts such as the Stanley Brothers and the Osborne Brothers.
Their first-ever album of entirely original songs, In the Ground sees the Gibson Brothers taking on their own roots as the sixth generation to grow up on their family farm. The two-time International Bluegrass Music Association Entertainers of the Year follow up their stellar, 5-times nominated tribute to brother harmonies, Brotherhood, which digs even deeper into their commitment to family and their history. Their themes come from the farm, their childhood, and the region in which they were raised. One can hear their dedication to the songs, from the lighthearted to the profound; in the modernity of the lyrics, matched with a virtuosity that feels somehow both traditional and revelatory. Now, as stated by Rolling Stone, they “have a fresh batch of original songs”.","Img_1":"GibsonBrothersSmall.jpg","FPriority":999,"PerformanceStart":"2026-12-13T22:00:00Z","PerformanceEnd":"2026-12-13T22:00:00Z","ItemType":"E","IsFeatured":1,"InteractiveSeatmapActive":1,"HasStream":0,"isBestSeller":0,"StreamlinedHomePageInfoLine":"","upcomingInfo":{"EventID":24,"NumUCP":1,"PerfID":195,"PerfAreaID":0,"EarlyBooking":0,"AccessMemberRestriction":0,"AccessAllowedByMembershipLevel":0}}],"settings":{"ProtocolRelativeURL":"//earlvilleoperahouse.showare.com","AlwaysHitEventLandingPage":0,"isMember":false,"Featured_NumPerPage":15,"BuyTicketsButtonText":"Buy Tickets","SysMsgBundleAlias":"Season Ticket","isCorporatePartner":0,"PerfAutoJumpToSection":1,"SpotlightEventText":"Best Seller","LimitedInventoryTitle":"Selling Quickly","LimitedInventoryAdditionalDescription":"Limited Availability Remaining","endOfList":true}}
