End of Year Giving Appeal
Dear Friend of the Arts,
We near the end of our 51st year with the triumphal post-Covid return of our loyal audiences for our fantastic performer shows and rotating art gallery exhibits. This year we hosted many local and regional performers, multiple theatrical productions by our award-winning resident company the Sherburne Music-Theater Society, and shows by nationally touring pros The Gibson Brothers, Carolyn Wonderland, Gary Talley, The Wailers, Marcia Ball, and Yasmin Williams. Ending the year on our 1892 Main Stage are the amazing Squirrel Nut Zippers bringing their Holiday Caravan to Central NY! If you’ve never heard this rollicking roots band with their style harking back 100 years, you’re in for a special treat!
In our three galleries, we hosted 10 different exhibits featuring over 30 individual artists which were enjoyed by hundreds of art enthusiasts from around the area and beyond. In addition to our great visual and performing artist shows, we hosted training sessions and arts education workshops for both adults and children including dance and theatre camps, guitar and songwriting workshops, photography classes, beadmaking, sound tech training, a Diversity Equity Inclusion & Accessibility Professional Development workshop, and workshops for individual artists and organizations seeking grant support.
As one of 26 Statewide Community Regrant sites we awarded $232,750 in NYS arts grants to 65 different nonprofit organizations and artists in three counties. While producing all our own activities we still found resources to do major brick restoration and window repairs to our historic building. We are now preparing for our 10th annual Auction for the Arts taking place virtually from December 1- 8, and our 26th annual Holiday Artisan Shop will run from November 24 – December 21, stop in for festive gift ideas from a variety of talented regional artists at this traditional shopping destination.
Now, as the end of another year is upon us, we invite you to include Earlville Opera House as one of your tax-planning contributions. As a 501-c3 non-profit organization, we depend heavily on the generosity of supporters like you. Whatever you can offer, your support goes a long way in a small organization like ours. You may send a one-time contribution or consider a monthly pledge to assist in our cash flow planning. And we invite you to consider a legacy gift in your will, to support our operations for another 50 years. The choice is yours!
Please know that your support drives a ripple effect of healthy economic activity driven by the arts in our small town and in four counties, and we thank you and appreciate you!
With Gratitude and Cheer,
Bruce Ward, President
